As high as a ten-story house – the "Aero 30" from Ballonbau Wörner is the largest approved tethered balloon for passenger flights in the world. Its volume capacity is 6000 m³. Inflated with helium, it develops a carrying capacity for lifting up to 30 passengers, who fly in a special gondola. With a lifting height of max. 150 meters (500 ft), it offers the passengers a gorgeous view over attractions, cities or any other large area site.
The AERO 30 is available in one size. It has a volume of 6.000 m³ (211,888 cuft).
Standing on the ground the height of the balloon is 34 m (111.55 ft). Its diameter is about 22 m (72.18 ft), its circumference about 70 m (229.66 ft).
No, only helium is certified and safe.
1 m ³ Helium lifts 10 N ̴ 1 kg.
The lifting capacity is about 3000 kg.
The low leakage of our special new balloon material is such that the balloon requires an average refilling of less than 70 m³( 2,473 cuft) per month, over the whole lifetime of the balloon.
Depending on the site and the operation frequency, the lifetime is about 5 – 8 years.
It is possible to choose different colored fabric gores for each gore of the envelope. In addition to the printing/paintwork on the envelope, it is also possible to use flexible and removable banners to fulfill any specific operating requirements.
The site should be free of obstacles higher than 3 m (9.84 ft) within a diameter of 60 m (196.85 ft). A centered funnel of 90° opening towards the sky must be completely free of obstacles. Eight restraint points, evenly distributed around the balloon, with a radius of 30 m (98.43 ft), have to be freely accessible. The winch further requires a 3×380V power supply.

The maximum wind speed for operation is 13 m/s (25 knots).
It is recommended to deflate the balloon at wind speeds of more than 110 km/h (> 33m/s).
The balloon normally remains inflated except for too high wind speeds.
Flying up to a max. altitude of 150 m (492 ft), six flying cycles per hour are possible.
The ascent speed is 50 m/min.
The descent speed is 40 m/min.
The balloon ascends to a maximum altitude of 150 m (492 ft).
In good weather, the balloon can be seen from a distance of 20 km (12 mi). With extra equipment, it can be illuminated for better visibility at night.
A maximum of 30 passengers, depending on the wind speed.
The minimum is two to three pilots with hot air balloon licenses. Two additional employees are also required as ground personnel. All staff require a three week training course provided by Aérophile.
The balloon is certificated by the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA. It is delivered with Certification of Airworthiness for registration in the respective countries. In some countries outside of the EU, no certification is required.
The operating license is to be issued by the local aviation authority.
