"Skyswing Balloon" Tethered balloon

Climb up to heaven at a max. height of 80 meters (260 ft) and swing freely back and forth in the air! The "Skyswing Balloon" from Ballonbau Wörner with 1500 m³ is significantly larger than the Double Flyer and can carry up to 8 passengers 80 meters up in the air. Passengers sit strapped in freely hanging shell seats, which are hung from a special carrying design. The tethered balloon is anchored tightly to the ground and is controlled from there by an operator.

The impressive balloon is the main attraction at every event, exhibition and festival and is used and enjoyed frequently by guests. That is why the "Skyswing Balloon" is also an ideal advertising medium. A balloon envelope surface 450 m² enables a logo or advertising message to be presented that is especially eye-catching over a large event site. And it also fascinates the guests at night: Illuminated from the inside out, it gives an impressive light show!
Simple set up and take down, easy operation
The "Skyswing Balloon" is especially easy to inflate and deflate due to the low volume of helium required. The set up time is approx. 4 hours. An area of approx. 300 m² on the ground is required for starting and landing. The tethered (captive) balloon system is suitable for stationary or mobile operation. During stormy weather the balloon is brought down into a lower position and secured via tear resistant anchoring points.

The SKYSWING BALLOON is available in one size. It has a volume of 1.500 m³ (52,972 cuft).
Standing on the ground the height of the balloon is 22 m (72.18 ft). Its diameter is about 14,5 m (47.57 ft), its circumference about 45 m (147.64 ft).
The gondola frame has a diameter of about 2,5 m (8.2 ft) and a height of about 1,5 m (4.92 ft).
No, only helium is certified and safe.
1 m ³ Helium lifts 10 N ̴ 1 kg.
The lifting capacity is about 1000 kg.
The low leakage of our special new balloon material is such that the balloon requires an average refilling of less than 25 m³ (882.87 cuft)per month, over the whole lifetime of the balloon.
Depending on the site and the operation frequency, the lifetime is about 5 – 8 years.
It is possible to choose different colored fabric slices for each slice of the envelope. In addition to the printing/paintwork on the envelope, it is also possible to use flexible and removable banners to fulfill any specific operating requirements.
The site should be free of obstacles higher than 3 m (9.84 ft) within a diameter of 40 m (131.23 ft). A centered funnel of 90° opening towards the sky has to be completely free of obstacles. Eight restraint points evenly distributed around the balloon, with a radius of 20 m (65.62 ft), must be freely accessible. The winch further requires a 3×380V power supply.
The maximum wind speed for operation is 13 m/s (25 knots).
It is recommended to deflate the balloon at wind speeds of more than 110 km/h (> 33m/s).
The balloon normally remains inflated except for too high wind speeds.

2 persons are necessary for operation. One of them operates the winch; the other secures the passengers in their seats. The members of staff require training by the manufacturer.
Compliance with the safety limits is continuously controlled by an alarm system throughout the ascent. The operator is informed by means of a flashing light if the limits are exceeded. During the flight, the passengers can contact the operator via a radio system.
The balloon is in certification at the European Aviation Safety Agency EASA. It is delivered with Certification of Airworthiness for registration in the respective countries. In some countries outside of the EU, no certification is required.
The operating license is to be issued by the local aviation authority.
